Dumbest Idea Ever?

You tell me what you think.  Here is the article.

  1. Wow...
So, the best way to fix the economy is to start a war (ex post inefficient) when we are already fighting two and borrowing money to fund both.
If this war is anything like the other two then it will cost trillions of dollars that we do not have putting the country even deeper into debt, which will surely lower our borrowing power and increase interest rates thereby increasing the actual debt even more.
Does the guy not realize that the deficit has and will have an enormous impact on our economy... sure, we might be producing things cheap and we might have more money in our pockets, but that money will be worth a lot less.
Actually, you know what, yeah I think it is a good idea. While we are at it we should not only make the Bush tax cuts permanent but we should cut taxes even more. I will then move to China, get connected with the government and work with them buying Treasury Bonds from the U.S. and running weapons underground to Iran to ensure long term involvement and a further reliance on the Treasury Bonds. Soon we will be able to buy out the U.S. peacefully. We then will end the war, and prove once and for all that communism (even if it is by name only) will defeat capitalism.

Yeah, pretty dumb idea in my book.

  2. "I am not suggesting, of course, that the president incite a war to get reelected" was my favorite line. It seemed like that is EXACTLY what he was suggesting.

Is the author suggesting that we actually donʻt go through with the war, or just head down that path until the Obama administration and the economy are more stable and say, "JK!" ? That seems risky in a major way. If that backfired there would be some pretty heavy audience costs for the politicians involved. War preparations arenʻt cheap either, so if the economy wasnʻt adequately bolstered it could tank even more.

So yeah, thatʻs a terrible plan.
